The Play
“WHEN NIGHT FALLS, YOU DREAM. WHILE YOU’RE ASLEEP, THAT’S WHEN HER SHADOW COMES TO HAUNT YOU.”
In a whirlwind of tormented memories, can you escape from that which haunts you? It is a question we ask you to consider. It does not matter how much you miss them, you cannot change what happened, and you cannot bring them back. So, how do you face that truth?
The two protagonists of our show are fragments of each other – tied by blood, but the death of one haunts the other. The girl struggles to reconcile with her twin’s death, and sleep becomes the only way in which her brain can process the inner chaos she has to face. Running is the easy solution, but she is forced to face the truth; a concept which she repeatedly refuses to accept.
Grief impacts everyone differently, and the brain is such a complex living system, manufactured by repetition and facts. As such, emotion has a powerful way of orchestrating narratives within our dreams, often those that leave us deeply troubled.
So we ask you: where do you go when you dream? How does your world come to life? How can you tell the difference between illusion and reality, for what is real, and what is fiction?
